After recently being asked what my best friend should get her boyfriend for his birthday, I thought, how the hell is anyone supposed to know what a guy wants for his birthday, EVER. He could either be the type that says "Oh, Anything..." or just plain and simple "...Dunno." It really is never the case when a boyfriend creates a detailed list of things he wants in the color and size that he wants them in. But this is why we love them. See below for my step by step guide to getting them something they really want.
1. PAY ATTENTION: If they have lost something, or really loved something while you have known them, you can never go wrong with replacing or buying a different version of something they love already. Safe and fool proof.
2. EXPERIENCE: Though it sounds cheesy, going out and doing something is worth much more than a shoe box or a t shirt. Pick up some tickets to his favorite band or buy a Groupon for a boat trip/tour in a cool spot.
3. BEER AND FOOD: If all else seems to be failing, you can never fail with anything that involves beer or food. Beer Festival, Craft beer tasting, head over to your local Brewery, or buy him a six pack of that fancy stuff he's been eyeing at your local beer shop.
4. CLOTHING: Boys, even the most stylish ones, will always be one step behind the way you want them to be looking. So in the most gentle way possible, pick up on their recent style choices, and make the same ones for them, except just better (obvi). This is one way to make your boyfriend dress the way you want, but never go too drastic. It is all about the subtle introduction...
5. LINGERIE: This is a creative route, but there is always the option of buying yourself a present to then "present" to them at a later more private time. This cannot and will not ever fail. And it is a great investment on your part.
